The Pennsylvania National Horse Show team is pleased to announce that Susan DiFelice, owner and creator of Allpony, has been named the winner of the 2023 PNHS Poster and Program Cover Art Contest.

Allpony is an online platform dedicated to providing engaging and educational resources for young equestrians. Founded by Susan DiFelice, a life-long horsewoman, educator, and illustrator, Allpony aims to foster a love for horses while promoting safety, responsibility, and horsemanship skills in children.

DiFelice’s piece for the PNHS Art Contest, titled “Behind the Scenes at PNHS,” met the judging criteria of creativity, originality, quality of design, and a unique representation of The Pennsylvania National Horse Show, earning DiFelice the contest’s $1,000 grand prize.

“I visited the PNHS for the first time in 2022,” explained DiFelice in the written submission accompanying her artwork. “During the show, I enjoyed exploring the indoor complex and took photos of horses being warmed up behind the scenes and shown in both arenas. I combined elements from several of these photos to create the illustrated scene that I submitted. It is inspired by the calm and focus I saw in the young riders as they prepared to enter the arena to show under the lights at the USEF Hunter Seat Medal Finals.”

DiFelice’s creation will be featured on the official PNHS 2023 poster and program cover, both of which will be available for purchase in the Main Lobby at the Pennsylvania Farm Show Complex on Cameron Street in Harrisburg, PA. The 77th annual Pennsylvania National Horse Show opens on Thursday, October 12, and runs through Sunday, October 22, 2023.
